Since 2015, the case study "A puzzle in 4D" has been a cooperative project between the host institution OREA/Austrian Academy of Science and the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Archaeological Prospection and Virtual Archaeology.
The LBI ArchPro is a research institute of the Ludwig Boltzmann Gesellschaft and was founded in 2010. The institute carries out its research activities together with several international partner organizations and aims to create a network of archaeological scientists supporting interdisciplinary research programes for the development of large-scale, efficient, non-invasive technologies for the discovery, documentation, visualization and interpretation of Europe's archaeological heritage.
Further organisations involved are the Archaeology Data Service (ADS) in Great Britain, the Austrian Archaeological Institute (ÖAI) and the Austrian Center for Digital Humanities (ACDH) in Austria, the University Bochum in Germany as well as the University of Chicago in the US and the Polo Universitario "Città di Prato" (PIN) in Italy.
